Day 2
Prelims was another successful session with breakout swims.
Kylie
Masse broke the Canadian Record in the 100 back swimming a time of 59:17 while
being seeded first by over a second for the evening finals. Masse, from Windsor
Ontario who attends the University of Toronto has been on fire for the last 2
years stepping up her game making appearances on the international scene. It was
incredible watching her smash Canadian Records back in February at the OUA
Championships in London for SCM and now again in the LCM pool. Masse is a clear
favourite for tonight’s final and will likely secure her spot on the Olympic
team and will likely break the 59 mark.
Javier
Acevedo had a big swim in the 100 back this morning as well swimming a new PB
and securing second spot for tonight’s finals. The youngster will put up some
tough competition in tonight’s finals in hopes to make his first Olympic Team
and more importantly his first Senior National team. Prediction he will win the
race by a hair and be the first male swimmer on the Olympic team.
